Rest in Peace, TC Rogers

We are deeply saddened to share the news that our dear friend, TC Rogers, passed away on January 13, way too soon.

Rogers gave so much to the LGBTQ+ community. They frequently volunteered in the local campaign for equal marriage rights, and they've been a stalwart supporter of Options Magazine, writing stories and serving as board president from 2017-2020, overseeing a major effort to archive all of Options’ publications at the Providence Public Library for all to access in perpetuity. They donated time and resources, never wanting to take credit. Rogers put their heart and soul into their communities, including being very active in their child's school. Rogers will be sorely missed by the Options community, and many others. Our hearts and prayers go out to their family, friends, and loved ones.

Rogers would often describe the local LGBTQ+ community as “beautiful, vibrant, and diverse.” At just about every board meeting, Rogers could be heard saying, “It’s great to have Options!,” in their upbeat way. Rogers, always wanting to lift people up, stated in one of their Options-published notes to the community, “I encourage you to remain steadfast in your commitment to our diverse LGBTQ+ community, and honor the accomplishments… as there are so many…. Be brave to be bold, and honor how beautiful you are in being so, and love each other along the way.”

Rest in peace, dear friend.
