Felicitations: Continuity

Continuity
I gave away my dresses and bought extra pairs of jeans.
I'm planning my transition as I'm entering my teens.
My name will be unchanging, though; the reason's plain to see.
My parents gave me options when they chose to name me Lee.

Continuity is part of the poem series Felicitations by Felicia Nimue Ackerman. Ackerman is a professor of philosophy at Brown University and has had over 200 poems published in a wide range of places. We are lucky to get to have a few of them published right here at Options Magazine.
